Here in the Dayton/Springfield area, with typically cold winters and hot, muggy summers, our cooling and heating systems get a year-round workout. The quality and reliability of your system usually depend upon the HVAC contractor you chose. It’s very much recommended that you compare at least three potential companies before deciding on whom to partner with, and there are some very important questions to ask.
Qualifications
Learn about the qualifications of your potential contractor:
- State licenses assure you of professionalism and good standing.
- Insurance bonds are an absolute must, protecting you against financial losses and inconvenience if an unforeseen event occurs while the contractor is on-site.
- Membership in contractor associations cannot simply be bought; they must be earned through examinations in some cases, and through years of responsible service to the community.
- Ask what a NATE membership means, and ensure all your contractor’s technicians have qualified for certification from North American Technician Excellence.
Personal Attention
No contractor can give you an accurate estimate for a significant installation or project, or in any way evaluate your project, over the telephone. Before giving a price, all responsible contractors must inspect the job. While he’s in your home, the technician should take the time to explain exactly what the issues are, and how he advises you to best resolve them.
If there’s any element of the job you don’t fully understanding, ask for further explanation. Any competent HVAC contractor should be willing to answer every question you have. It’s your home, and you’ll want to be fully aware of all aspects of the work.
Warranties and Guarantees
When you work with Ace Hardware Home Services, you’ll get a written receipt for every job. That document acts as your warranty for all our work. This is in addition to any and all manufacturer guarantees provided with newly installed equipment.
We further guarantee that, whatever the size and complexity of your job, we’ll arrive with an appropriate team to tackle it. All our technicians are fully trained and protected by our licenses and insurance, so you’re sure to be in trustworthy, expert hands.
